MULTIPLICATION FACTS ARE AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN FIFTH GRADE MATH!
 
I am teaching the kids to multiply in the traditional manner; the same one you most likely learned when you were in school.  Please work with them at home for more practice.  The lattice method is a method that works, but the decision has been made to also teach the traditional method of multiplying multi-digit numbers.
